SERIES 5

For series 5 Portrait Youth collaborated with Reclaiming The Narrative, a Manchester Metropolitan University project aimed at challenging Islamophobia and empowering young British Muslims, led by Dr Fatima Khan.

 

The young people involved were encouraged to explore their individual identities through creatively styling garments and objects, captured through portrait photography. ​

The photographer for this series was Maryam Wahid.

The images were exhibited at the British Muslim Heritage Centre during the ESRC festival of social science 22 October- 13 November 2022.
